IMPORTANT TECH UPDATE

Hi everyone -

I've got some important news regarding this blog. Blogger is soon going to force an upgrade to its new system, so our choices are to:

A) stay with this service and sign up for Google accounts to use it (see "About Google accounts" below), or
B) find a different blog service, which will change everything.

I'm voting for Option A (using this one with Google accounts), but let me know what you all think. I'll wait about a week to hear from you all (you can put up a comment or post here, e-mail me at writerkkm@yahoo.com or call me at 719-314-5726) and then I'll let you know what we're going to do based on the feedback.

ABOUT GOOGLE ACCOUNTS: They're free and Google does not sell your information to separate vendors, according to the company's privacy statement (www.google.com/intl/en/privacypolicy.html). The accounts offer you several features in addition to the use of Blogger's upgrade (for example, you can store documents online, keep a calendar, join online interest groups and create a personalized homepage - that last one is my personal favorite), but you don't have to use any of the extra stuff.

You can create a basic Google account by following these directions:

If you want Gmail (Google's version of e-mail, which I like alot) as part of your Google account, e-mail me for a different set of directions. If you already have Gmail, you already have a Google account.

And here's a link to more general info about Google accounts: www.google.com/support/accounts

Thanks, all! Look forward to hearing from you.
Kristin
